Years 10 and 11·GCSE schemes of work

GCSE Psychology scheme of work

For heads of department and GCSE psychology teachers

Both GCSE years planned as one course: the Year 10 Psychology Scheme of Work and the Year 11 Psychology Scheme of Work, 68 to 85 pages a book, £5.99 each or £9.99 for the pair. The first eight pages of each book open on its own page, so a real unit can be read before anything is bought.

Board-neutral. Both books are planned from the Department for Education’s GCSE subject content, which AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR each have to cover however they order it.

Cover of Year 10 Psychology Scheme of Work

Psychology · GCSE (Key Stage 4) £5.99

Year 10 Psychology Scheme of Work

Sixty-eight pages, board-neutral by construction: the core is the Department’s own subject content, and every week is tagged for one of Ofqual’s three assessment objectives (identical on all three boards at 35%, 35% and 30%). Four half-termly units, four purpose-drawn diagrams and a coverage matrix that places every requirement across both years. The design decision is research methods: Ofqual requires it to carry at least a fifth of the marks and to be assessed across all three objectives, so it runs as a spine through every unit rather than waiting for a half-term of its own.

Cover of Year 11 Psychology Scheme of Work

Psychology · GCSE (Key Stage 4) £5.99

Year 11 Psychology Scheme of Work

Eighty-five pages completing the course: psychological problems, the brain and neuropsychology, two optional topics, and a closing unit that judges reliability, validity and ethics against the research plans students built in Year 10. Four purpose-drawn diagrams and a two-year coverage matrix. The clinical unit is written to be substituted — depression is the one condition all three specifications set, so the second half swaps without touching the other six weeks — and it carries a full page on what to tell your pastoral lead, and when.
