The same ten sections per unit as Year 10, so nothing has to be relearned in September — but the year is built differently, because examinations arrive before the academic year does.
Content finishes in the spring. Unit 3a is synthesis: no new material, four weeks spent connecting two years of it and learning to sustain an argument at length, opening with a blank map of the UK and twelve minutes to find out what two years actually left. Unit 3b is revision by diagnosis. A department that plans revision before the evidence exists has written a timetable; this one sits a full paper, codes every question by topic, objective, skill and command word, groups students by what the analysis shows, reteaches to that need, and then reattempts and measures. The sixth step is the one that gets skipped and the only one that proves anything.
