GCSE Geography Scheme of Work — Year 10 (PDF)
Ninety pages, board-neutral by construction: every requirement comes from the DfE subject content for GCSE geography, and no specification is reproduced anywhere. Three things are computed from the units rather than claimed — that all seven named topics are taught, that all fifteen statements of the mathematics and statistics appendix are taught and revisited, and that case studies reach at least two countries other than the UK. Fieldwork is planned as the 15% of the qualification it actually is, with the write-up given three times the teaching of the day out, because that is how the Department weights it.

Ten sections per unit, in the same order every time, so a teacher who learns the shape once knows all six. Phases rather than single lessons, because schools do not agree on how much time GCSE geography gets — the planning assumption is stated rather than hidden.
Three things run through the book. Geographical skills are named in the unit that teaches them rather than gathered into a skills unit, because they are a quarter of the qualification and cannot be revised at the end. Case studies are anchored in three countries returned to repeatedly, rather than accumulated one per topic — a direct answer to the commonest weakness in case-study teaching. And fieldwork is planned inside the units it investigates, with school-site alternatives for departments nowhere near a river or a coast.
Every misconception carries the reason students hold it and the repair that works. Every unit ends with a printable diagnostic that can be photocopied without the answers travelling with it.
