The Year 11 terms: the world outside the business; growth, location and the cost of getting bigger; judging performance from margins, returns and financial information; decisions under uncertainty; the board’s own words and the extended answer; and final preparation as a programme, not a revision list.

Everything else this site has for Business: Business teaching resources

Year 11 is the course joined up, and the year the exam arrives. Two A4 pages per unit, in the scheme of work’s teaching order: the world outside the business, growth and location, and judging performance from margins and returns — then three units that teach no new content, because the scheme says so: decisions under uncertainty, the board’s own command words, and a final programme built from each pupil’s own mock.
Those three are honest about it. Where a unit introduces no new terms, its vocabulary box says what it holds instead: a retrieval set drawn from both years, or the command words themselves — with the two terms only one board uses labelled as that board’s, because only two of the four boards publish a list at all.
Page two carries the same four parts as Year 10: what pupils must be able to do, how the answer is built, the misconceptions that cost marks with the reason each one is believed, and the scheme’s own hinge questions, word for word.
Board-neutral throughout: no sheet is written to one board’s specification. The content traces to the Department for Education’s GCSE subject content for business, which every awarding body has to cover. Where the boards genuinely differ, the command-word sheet says so by name — it labels the terms only one board uses, and charts what a mark is worth in minutes on each board’s papers — and every sheet tells a department to check its own.
