Ofqual sets the four objectives and the 35/35/15/15 split, so those are identical on every board. Where the marks sit is not, and in history the difference is larger than in any other subject in this range. Part One opens on that table rather than on content, and the placement is drawn as well as tabled, on a page where you can see at a glance which paper carries no source or interpretation marks at all.
Page two routes by reader: a classroom teacher, someone new to the department, a head of department and a line manager each get a named place to start. Everything after Part One is subject pedagogy that is true whichever board you teach.
