Cover of Year 7 Physical Education

Ten sections per block, in the same order every time. Weeks rather than lessons, because PE is timetabled at about two hours a week as a double or two singles.

**Written for a carousel.** Almost no PE department teaches one unit to a whole year group at a time — there is one hall, one gym and one field, and groups rotate. So the six blocks stand alone within a year and the document says plainly what may be reordered and what may not. The strand across years is the dependency; the term a block falls in is not.

Four pages a head of PE looks for and rarely finds: the six strands mapped across all three years, how to run the whole thing as a carousel, **every activity area with the risks that actually produce injuries and what the department does about them**, and a page on teaching this outside the UK — heat, Ramadan, kit and facilities — for departments that are not working to an English school year.

Every duration and activity is a strong default rather than a fixed rule. The activity named in each block is the department's choice; what is fixed is the strand and what it teaches.
