GCSE Biology:
10 Misconceptions

Biology Misconceptions PowerPoint for secondary schools

Ten myths, one per GCSE Biology unit, each fixed with a diagram built for that one idea — not a stock icon standing in for it. Every key word and exam line comes from the Biology knowledge organisers already on this site, not written fresh for the slide. Thirteen slides: the words are live text, to retype and rebrand as your own.

Cover of GCSE Biology: 10 Misconceptions

One misconception per unit, in the order the DfE's subject content sets the units out: Cell Biology, Bioenergetics, Transport Systems, Health and Disease, Coordination and Control, Homeostasis, The Genome, Inheritance and Evolution, and Ecosystems. The tenth is about revision itself — "rereading my notes" is the misconception that quietly costs marks across all nine.

Each of those ten slides carries the same four blocks: the myth as students actually say it, the truth in one paragraph, the key words with their exact definitions, and the line that gets rewarded in the exam. The other three are the title, a page on how to run the deck, and a closing note on where the myths came from. Delete freely — every slide is self-contained, so pulling one out for a single lesson breaks nothing else.
