A Level English Literature
Scheme of Work
Forty-five pages across two years, board-neutral by construction: every requirement stated here comes from the DfE subject content or from Ofqual's subject level conditions, never from one board's set text list. The eight-text minimum, the three pre-1900 texts and the post-2000 requirement are planned in a table before any title is chosen. The non-examined assessment gets a full term with the question signed off by Week 2 and plan-level feedback only from Week 7, and the unseen is taught as a five-step procedure rather than as a talent.

Ten sections per unit, in the same order every time. Weeks rather than single lessons, because A level literature is timetabled in long blocks and the reading load is the real constraint.
The requirements are planned before the titles, because the genre balance is the constraint most often discovered late: two examples each of prose, poetry and drama is six of the eight texts before any other choice is made.
One diagram per unit draws the move that unit turns on — observation against argument, alternation against structure by idea, and the handover of the non-examined assessment.
