A Level Business
Scheme of Work
Seventy pages across two years, board-neutral by construction: every requirement comes from the DfE’s A level business subject content or Ofqual’s four assessment objectives, and where AQA, Cambridge OCR, Pearson Edexcel and WJEC Eduqas differ, the book names the board. Six units, from the customer to the whole course under exam conditions. Every worked figure is recomputed and every board statement re-read from its own specification.

Ten sections per unit, in the same order every time. Year 12 teaches the AS core, starting with the market and the customer, then marketing and people, then operations and finance, with the A level items that sit beside them. Year 13 teaches the rest of what A level adds, and the last unit gives the whole course to unfamiliar cases under exam conditions: a cold paper, a gap list sorted by assessment objective, and two timed mocks.
Two of the four boards changed their specifications for first teaching in September 2026, and the new documents differ from the old ones and from each other. The table at the back sets out where the boards diverge, including which of them still offer an AS, and the coverage matrix shows where each of the Department’s requirements is taught. Year 13 is the tight year: the three units run to more weeks than a typical calendar allows, and the book says which to compress.
