Six weeks and thirty one-hour lessons for one set text, in the play’s own order after a week on the frame, then the exam. Every unit has the same ten sections in the same order, and every lesson is one card: the five-minute retrieval, the passage, the main activity in numbered steps with minutes, the writing, the check, and what changes for a student who is stuck or ahead.
Teaching the play, not revising it. A knowledge organiser and a printable diagnostic for every unit, support, core and challenge versions of every assessed task, and a marking load a department can actually carry — six marked outcomes in thirty lessons, the rest checked in the room.
The boards do not reward the same things, and one model answer is wrong for most of them. Each pack carries weak, middling and strong answers written separately for every board that sets the play, marked against that board’s own descriptors, in two parts where the board sets two — and says at every exam line what each board ignores.
Questions
Which exam boards is a set text pack written for?
Every board that sets the play, separately. Blood Brothers is written for AQA, Pearson Edexcel and Eduqas — OCR does not set it. Macbeth is written for all four, OCR included. The worked answers follow each board’s own mark scheme, in two parts where the board sets a two-part question, and every lesson card says at its exam-focus line what changes for each board.
Is the play itself included?
Blood Brothers: no. It is in copyright, so every student needs a copy of the play. Macbeth: the key speeches are printed at the back, clean, for annotation — the play is out of copyright and every quotation is checked against its text.
How long does a pack take to teach?
Six weeks: six units of five one-hour lessons, in the play’s own order, with the exam unit last. Every lesson card also stands alone, so a department can lift single lessons, or use the organisers, diagnostics and worked answers for revision.
Is this a student revision guide?
No. It is a teacher’s scheme — lesson cards, knowledge organisers, diagnostics, the adaptations for support and challenge, and the worked answers a class is shown by its teacher. A class sees its own board’s answers; the teacher sees all of them.
What format do I get?
A PDF, typeset for A4 and ready to print. It downloads immediately after payment, and the link stays valid so you can come back to it.
Can I share it with my department?
Yes. Every resource is free to reproduce inside the school that buys it — print it, copy it, hand it round a department. The licence covers one school.
Can I see it before I buy?
Yes. The opening pages of every paid title are readable in the browser, free and without signing up. The behaviour playbook is free in full for a name and an email.
Is it a subscription?
No. One payment, and the file is yours. There is nothing to cancel.
What if it is not what I expected?
